Provides TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) recipients assistance with employability skills attainment,job development/acquisition, and employment retention.

Funding sources: Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services, Area Departments of Social Services, local school divisions, private rehabilitation companies, and private insurance carriers.

Supported Employment Situational Assessment

An assessment of one's employability skills that is performed within a community business that engages in the type(s) of work activity that interest the participant.

Supported Employment

Encompasses a variety of services provided to an individual who seeks employment within the community but requires support in order to be successful.

Enclave

Highly supportive employment option where a group of individuals and a supervisor perform work duties for a community business.

Facility-Based Employment Services

Situational Assessment

A brief "real world" evaluation of an individuals' employability skills intended to establish a baseline from which to develop training plans.

Work Adjustment

An on-the-job training program intended to enhance an individual's employability and task specific skills.

Extended Employment

A long-term facility-based employment opportunity for individuals who require a higher level of support in order to be employed successfully.
